Voice calls

A voice call lets you talk to your coach naturally, like a phone call. It works well for check-ins, talking through something difficult or planning while you walk.

Start a call

Open the chat and tap the Speak button (the sound wave) in the message box. The first time, allow microphone access.

The screen switches to Voice Mode. The status at the top shows whether your coach is Listening, Thinking or Speaking. A timer shows how long you’ve been talking.

During a call:

  • Your words and your coach’s replies appear in the chat as text.
  • Tap the mute button to mute your microphone.
  • You can still type a message and your coach will pick it up.
  • On iPhone, the call shows on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you can use other apps.

Tap End to finish the call. Your coach may also wrap up and end the call itself once you’re done.

Calls from your coach

Your coach can call you, but only when you’ve asked it to, for example “Call me at 6pm to plan tomorrow”. The call comes in like a normal phone call, labelled with what it’s for. Answer to talk, or decline if it’s not a good time.

Choosing a voice

Pick how your coach sounds in Coach settings. If you’d like voice to be your default way of talking to your coach, set Interaction Mode to Voice First.

If a call won’t connect, you’ll see “Couldn’t connect. Tap to retry.” Check your internet connection and try again. If your microphone isn’t working, see Voice calls aren’t working.
